Обновление gradle. Не удалось найти метод compile() для аргументов. ⇐ Android

Я пытаюсь обновить Gradle до версии 7.0.1 в проекте ионного конденсатора. Я постоянно получаю эту ошибку
Caused by: org.gradle.internal.metaobject.AbstractDynamicObject$CustomMessageMissingMethodException: Could not find method compile() for arguments [{name=barcodescanner-release-2.1.5, ext=aar}] on object of type org.gradle.api.internal.artifacts.dsl.dependencies.DefaultDependencyHandler.

Я много искал, чтобы решить эту проблему, но все возможные исправления говорят, что мне нужно изменить «реализацию» метода «компиляции» в «app/build.grade», но на самом деле файл не содержит метода компиляции!
