I am looking for data sets of scientific publications. The naive approach would be to manually search the papers in question and also the cited sources.
Ideally, I am looking for a tool that takes a series of papers or urls to papers as a starting point and gives me
a) a list of all the papers cited in it and the papers cited by them (an ideal search depth would also be good here)
b) and even better, searches for datasets.
Have you heard of something like this? Does it already exist? Alternatively, I am not afraid to write it myself. However, an approach would be good for this. How do you go about it?
I haven't found anything about this on the internet yet.
